The reason we're gathering

Two new books, freshly off the press

We're adding Scottish Gaelic and Mandarin Chinese to the family, and we'd love you to be there as we unveil them.

On the night

Meet the people behind the books

We'll hear from the writers of the two new books, alongside the founder of Coffee Break Languages. It's an evening to celebrate these two important languages in Glasgow and Scotland, to celebrate language learning in general, and a chance for everyone to use and share their language skills alongside the Coffee Break Team.

About the series

Learning, one cup at a time

We're the team behind the Coffee Break Languages podcasts and online courses in more than ten languages. In 2022 we published our first language-learning books with John Murray Learning, and the 50 Coffee Breaks series has been growing ever since.

The idea is simple: build a habit by weaving a little practice into your daily ritual, from a quick espresso to a more leisurely latte. Each book is packed with 50 varied and lively activities, from anagrams and idiom challenges to recipes and quotations, written specially for the language and culture it belongs to and pitched at upper-beginner to lower-intermediate learners.
